Malaria
Also called: plasmodium infection.
A disease caused by a plasmodium parasite, transmitted by the bite of infected mosquitoes.
The severity of malaria varies based on the species of plasmodium.
Maleria is a life threatening disease spread to humans by some types of mosquitoes 🦟. It is mostly found in tropical areas
SYMPTOMS OF MALARIA
Symptoms are chills, fever and sweating, fatigue, seizures, difficult breathing etc.usually occurring a few weeks after being bitten.
Infants, children under 5, pregnant women, people infected with HIV/AIDS are at higher risk of these infection.
HOW TO PREVENT MALERIA.
1 Apply mosquito repellent with DEET (diethyltoluamide) to exposed skin.
2 Drape mosquito netting over beds.
3 Put screens on windows and doors.
4 Treat clothing, mosquito nets, tents, sleeping bags and other fabrics with an insect repellent called permethrin.
5 Wear long pants and long sleeves to cover your skin.
